The Expedition Kit

The Expedition Kit includes a board, hour glass, large building plate and two sets of task cards. One set introduces the method with a team-working exercise; the other explores the theme of Friendship.

Using the task cards and their individual Reflections kit, students work their way around the Expedition board, completing a series of building tasks.

If the theme is friendship for example, they will build a model that describes an episode where they were a good friend to somebody, and that illustrates their idea of perfect friendship. And they will build models that reflect on specific qualities of friendship, such as having fun, and so on.

Each student shares his thoughts about each model with the rest of the group. At the end of the Expedition, each student chooses his most valued model and the group creates a shared model that represents the group’s thoughts on the topic at hand.
